Harvey, a 70-year-old heavy plant operator from Buckshead, Truro was ordered by a Truro Crown Court judge to pay £2,275,454 as part of a ‘confiscation order.’
Harvey’s defence counsel Jo Martin said that the business and family assets, in terms of property, would have to be sold as a result of the confiscation order.
Judge Christopher Elwen assessed that of the £5,159,880 turnover made by Harvey’s company between 2003 and 2009, 38 per cent of it was through criminal activity.
Harvey must also pay £6,250 prosecution costs.
He also admitted nine out of 39 charges – the remainder of which still lie on file – of dishonestly handling stolen goods. He was given another 15 months’ imprisonment to run consecutively to the arson convictions.
Following these cases he was ordered to pay £786,643 to his victims, which has been paid.
